Welcome! My name is Adrienne. I’m a mother to a smart, sassy and sweet four-year-old girl and a squishy, smiley, sometimes sticky one-year-old boy. I am a teacher and writer who believes all mothers deserve TLC.
When I had my daughter back in 2013, I left the hospital with a beautiful baby and a complication from the epidural. My migraine lasted 12 days, leaving me barely able to care for my baby girl. On day 13, I was finally feeling better and my mom and I took my daughter to the pediatrician, where she received a call that would change my life: my beloved grandfather died of a heart attack.
It was all too much for me. I was grieving for a man who was like a father to me on top of adjusting to a colicky, inconsolable newborn. My hormones, grief, and stress led me to one path: Postpartum Depression.
It took me many months, a helpful therapist, and a great support group, but I was able to get better without medication. I got better because I learned how to take care of myself. This is why I created Peace of Mom. While you might not be suffering from something as severe as PPD, all mothers need to learn how to take care of themselves. I want to give you the tools you need to do this, starting with how to find the time for yourself.
Peace of Mom is a community for smart moms in search of self-care. This website will help you:
- Find time in your busy day for yourself
